Costa Lindia Beach Resort

FEATURES
Located on the picturesque Rhodes Island in Greece, Costa Lindia Beach Resort, with its address at Επαρ.Οδ. Λάρδου-Αλάερμα, Λάρδος 851 09, presents itself as a hotel, lodging, and point of interest. Recent guest reviews reveal a highly mixed bag of experiences, highlighting both attractive features and significant operational shortcomings.
Overall Impressions ⚖️
The resort is often described as beautiful and new, with a visually appealing design that evokes a "small village" atmosphere. Guests have appreciated the stylish furniture, modern sunbeds, and the picturesque mountain views surrounding the property. However, this aesthetic appeal is frequently overshadowed by serious concerns regarding guest service, reservation management, and inconsistent quality across various amenities, leading to profound disappointment for many.
The Good 👍
Aesthetics & Ambiance ✨
- The hotel area is generally found to be very cozy and well-designed, giving a pleasant sense of being in a small village.
- There is a great variety of modern sun beds and sitting areas in different styles, complemented by very stylish furniture throughout the hotel.
- The surrounding mountains make the view very picturesque, adding to the resort's visual appeal.
- Rooms are described as beautiful by some guests.
Dining Variety 🍽️
- The resort boasts five restaurants: the main La Luna, an Italian restaurant at the beach, and three a la carte options (Greek, Asian, Steak House).
- The Greek a la carte restaurant was specifically praised as very good.
- Some staff members, such as Maria and Eva in the main restaurant, were noted for being very kind and wonderful.
Bar Service 🍹
- The bar was considered great with staff like Anisia, contributing to a positive experience in that area.
Areas for Improvement 👎
Booking & Overbooking Crisis 😤
- Multiple guests reported severe issues with overbooking, where confirmed and fully paid reservations were not honored upon arrival. This resulted in guests being stranded, left without a room, or forcibly moved to other hotels for part of their stay, causing immense frustration and effectively ruining long-awaited vacations.
- The hotel's approach was described as "careless and greedy policies," "unprofessionalism and greed," with staff often being "indifferent and unapologetic" or creating a "total mess" at reception with no explanation or apology for the errors.
Inconsistent Service & Staff Responsiveness 😠
- Reception staff, while initially good upon arrival for some, were frequently criticized for being unhelpful when issues arose, such as a non-working air conditioner, or for providing no support for impossible restaurant reservations.
- There was a noted lack of interest in guests' well-being, particularly in severe cases like families being displaced due to overbooking.
Food Quality & Restaurant Reservations 😔
- The food in the main La Luna restaurant was deemed "ok but not more" and generally repetitive, with breakfast buffet dishes described as "quite tasteless." Specific complaints included egg dishes having "zero spices," bad coffee and tea, and packaged orange juice, which was surprising for a hotel positioned as 5-stars.
- Booking a la carte restaurants was consistently reported as complicated and frustrating, requiring online booking at "weird time" windows (e.g., 12:12 pm) with only a few minutes to secure a spot. Many guests found it impossible to make a reservation throughout their entire stay.
Cleanliness & Amenities Issues 💧
- Guests reported instances of towels not being changed on the first day of their stay.
- Problems with essential amenities like air conditioning not working were also mentioned, with reception failing to assist.
- The process for exchanging beach towels was inconvenient, requiring a long walk with no dedicated center on the beach itself, which was not considered up to 5-star standards.
Safety & Security Concerns 🚨
- A very serious incident involved a guest reporting that their apartment doors were found open and money was missing. The hotel management's response was severely criticized, with allegations of being "sold a story," no police involvement as promised, and ultimately, nothing being done to resolve the issue, leaving the guest feeling unsafe and without justice. This raises significant concerns for future guests regarding personal security.
Crowding & Facility Access 👥
- Some guests found it challenging to find a sun-bed, suggesting potential overcrowding during peak times.
Conclusion 🤔
The Costa Lindia Beach Resort undeniably possesses a visually appealing environment and offers a variety of dining options. However, the recurring and severe negative feedback, particularly concerning reservation integrity, inconsistent and often unhelpful staff service, general food quality, and alarming safety concerns regarding theft, cast a long shadow over its positive attributes. These issues frequently led to ruined vacations and significant guest dissatisfaction. While some aspects of the resort are appreciated, its operational deficiencies, especially the critical issues like overbooking and unaddressed theft, significantly undermine its perceived 5-star status. Prospective visitors are strongly advised to consider these factors carefully and potentially verify their bookings multiple times to avoid similar distressing experiences.
Terrible Experience - They Completely Ruined My VacationI would never recommend this hotel to anyone. They practice overbooking, and because of their careless and greedy policies, they ruined my long-awaited vacation. I had booked my stay months in advance, looking forward to a relaxing holiday, but upon arrival, I was informed that they had no room available for me. Despite having a confirmed reservation, they told me they were “fully booked” and offered no acceptable alternative accommodation. The staff were indifferent and unapologetic, treating me like I was just another problem to deal with. No consideration was given to the fact that I had spent months planning and saving for this trip. They left me stranded, with nowhere to stay, completely ruining the vacation I had been so excited for. This is nothing but unprofessionalism and greed. Overbooking is unacceptable and shows a total disregard for their guests. I would advise anyone to stay far away from this hotel if they don’t want their holiday ruined like mine was.Absolutely disgraceful.
All in all we really liked our week at the hotel. The atmosphere is nice, our room was beautiful, there are quite a few bars and restaurants. The hotel area is very cozy and well designed, one has a feeling of being in a small village. There is a great variety of modern sun beds and sitting areas in different styles. The furniture of the whole hotel was very stylish. There are mountains around which make the view very picturesque. There are 5 restaurants: the main one (La Luna), an Italian restaurant at the beach and 3 a la carte ones: Greek, Asian and a Steak house. The a la carte restaurants have to be booked online in advance and this was always a bit complicated. I recommend contacting the reception in advance to know what time you should book it (the booking opens at weird time like 12:12pm and you have approximately 5 mins to book it otherwise you have no chance). The Greek restaurant was very good, the Asian one was not quite to our liking. The atmosphere in La Luna restaurant is quite dull and boring, the food is ok but not more. The food at the breakfast buffet is a quite tasteless. Egg dishes have zero spices (not even salt or pepper). Coffee and tee didn’t taste well at all, orange juice was a package one and not fresh, which was surprising for a 5-stars hotel.
hotel, beautiful in the pictures and in the descriptions of the travel agencies' offers. tempted by the refreshment and renovation from last year, we decided to go there for a long-awaited vacation. carefully planned trip, when we arrived at the place it turned out that our fully paid reservation was not there (we made it a month earlier). we paid 18 thousand so that on the spot they told us that they would move us to the hotel next door for 4 days.. at the reception a total mess, no one apologized to us, and next to us a family in a similar situation. we were not alone. no one was able to tell us what happened to our reservation except that it was not there, it simply evaporated, just like the money from the account for it will be given! I don't know if anyone flying on vacation once a year with the family is happy that in the middle of the week they have to pack everything again to move back to the hotel? disgust, anger, frustration. many people arrived in the meantime and occupied the rooms without a problem, and ours was not there. ladies and gentlemen, you ruined our vacation, our daughter's, who knew exactly where to spend it and you didn't even feel obliged to take an interest in us for the whole week! the hotel may be nice but the service, logistics and the way they treat people who paid you their hard-earned money counting on a wonderful vacation are the worst. I absolutely do not recommend it, and I advise those who have a reservation there to check it five times so that it doesn't turn out that they kiss the doorknob.
1 star is even too much, today is my last day in Resort, it was a challenging to find a sun-bed, food, reservation in restaurant, but it all can somehow be justified by having “full house”. Yesterday I reported that doors of my apartment were open and that I am missing money… hotel manager came and sold me a story with charming smile. I stayed whole night awaken waiting for “police officers “ which should have been called so I can get my money back, as I came to reception to ask what is wrong and why I didn’t get phone call and where the meager is they told me he left, so I stayed few more hours at reception waiting for justice, of course nothing was done. Dear Guests and dear future guests be very very careful!
The resort is beautiful and new, but I will give it some feedback it deserves.**Reception**: It was good upon arrival but did not assist us when we called to inform them that the air conditioner was not working. The children slept in the room without anyone caring.**Food**: Repetitive to a large extent and not deserving of five stars, but there were people like Maria and Eva who were very kind and wonderful in the restaurant.**Cleanliness**: Towels were not changed on the first day. I reported these issues to the TUI company, and their response was quick and excellent.**Restaurants requiring reservations**: I could not make a reservation throughout the entire week of my stay, and the reception did not help me with the reservation either. This is very strange.**The bar**: It was great with Anisia, but it does not classify as a five-star bar.**Beach towels**: You have to walk a distance to exchange towels, and there was no center to exchange towels on the beach. This is a note that does not apply to a five-star resort.**Final evaluation**: The resort is beautiful, but the feedback should not be present in a five-star resort.
