Important Information & Recommendations for Your Visit 📞
While the Archangelos Folklore Museum offers a profoundly enriching experience, prospective visitors should be aware of a significant challenge: inconsistent opening hours. Several reviews highlight frustration from travelers who made the journey to find the museum closed, despite conflicting information from a plaque on the gate, online sources, and even verbal advice from the owner. This has led to wasted time for those traveling a considerable distance, such as the hour-long bus journey from Rhodes town.
- To ensure a successful visit, it is highly recommended to call and arrange an appointment in advance. Mr. Vasilis has been noted for being very accommodating in this regard.
- As the museum is free, consider making a contribution to support the director's dedication and the preservation of this unique cultural treasure.

A traditional village house full of items used in the daily life of people of Archangelos of distant past but also present day. The director of the museum was so extremely knowledgeable about every detail of the household and many items of the exhibit belonged to his family, dating back to his great grandparents. Mr. Vasilis devoted much time to explain everything hot us and to answer all of our questions. The museum entry is free of charge and Mr. Vasili does this out of his passion for history, his village and his art as he is an art restorer by profession. I would suggest that he at least have a box for contributions! The museum is openvery specific hours so I suggest calling and arranging an appointment in advance, as we did. He was very accommodating regarding meeting us and I commend him for his preservation of his history and sharing this free of charge.
Came to visit museum on Tuesday and found it closed although the plaque on the gate sted it was open everyday between 10am - 3pm. I looked it up on the internet which stated it's only open on Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. I returned on Friday only to find it closed. Irene the owner who said it was only open on Saturdays. As it is over a 1-hour bus journey from Rhodes it has been a complete waste of my time. If the owner cannot be bothered to update the internet of his museum opening times why should I bother going there.Lloyd Cole
