Eagles Nest, located at ΠΕΥΚΟΣ, Pefki 851 07, Greece, is a hotel and lodging establishment on the beautiful island of Rhodes. This review synthesizes recent guest experiences to provide a comprehensive overview of what you can expect during your stay.

The Positives: What Guests Loved ❤️

Many visitors have highlighted several commendable aspects of Eagles Nest, contributing to a generally positive experience for a majority of guests.

  1. Exceptional Staff Service: The hotel staff consistently receives high praise for their kindness, helpfulness, and professionalism. Reviewers specifically mentioned Melia and Kiroula at the reception for being very nice, helpful, discreet, and attentive. The restaurant service, including Mr. Spiros and Angelina, was lauded as a "representation of great hospitality." The chef, waiters, and barman were also noted for being helpful and polite.
  2. Comfortable and Clean Rooms: Guests frequently commend the cleanliness of the rooms, often describing them as "very clean" and "generous." The beds are highlighted as "very comfortable." Some guests were particularly pleased with the direct pool access rooms and the private jacuzzi rooms, finding them a significant highlight and a "must" for a luxurious feel.
  3. Good Value and Facilities: Many guests found Eagles Nest to offer "great value for money." The pool area is a notable feature, described as "great." The presence of a 24/7 convenient minimarket on-site is also a practical advantage for guests.
  4. Dining Quality (for some): While a point of contention for some, specific positive feedback was given for dinner and breakfast options. Some guests found the food to have "healthy and tasty options," with "good quality of materials" being evident. The atmosphere at breakfast was also described as relaxed, with "no bunfights" due to the hotel's fairly small size.
  5. Quiet Location: Situated at the edge of Pefkos, the hotel offers a quiet environment, appealing to those seeking a more tranquil holiday experience away from the immediate hustle and bustle of the town center.

Areas for Improvement and Considerations ⚠️

Despite the many positive aspects, some guests have raised concerns that prospective visitors should be aware of before booking:

  1. Breakfast Inconsistencies: This is a significant area of mixed feedback. While some found breakfast healthy and tasty, others described it as a "disappointment" with "not many options," particularly for vegetarian or vegan diets. A concerning review also reported guests getting sick from the breakfast, leading to a wasted day and night. The use of disposable plastic cups for breakfast was also noted as disappointing by one reviewer.
  2. Location and Accessibility: While the quiet location is a positive for some, its position at the edge of Pefkos means it's about a 20-minute walk from the center, which might be "too long a walk if you're not good on your feet!" It's also "further out from Lindos square," requiring a taxi for visits. Guests reported that taxis can be "hard to find and take long to arrive," impacting convenience for exploring.
  3. Room Specific Issues:
    • Minibar: The minibar in rooms was noted as being empty, requiring guests to purchase items from the downstairs shop.
    • Water Quality: One guest reported experiencing "yellow drinking water."
    • Odors and Pests: A highly negative experience included reports of rooms and balconies smelling like sewage, and a cockroach entering the room due to a "large crack in the entrance door."
    • Soundproofing: Poor soundproofing was also mentioned, with guests hearing "everything" from outside or adjacent rooms.
  4. Initial Booking Discrepancies: One guest experienced being placed in a different room than booked upon arrival. However, it's important to note that the front desk was able to fix this issue quickly.

Who is Eagles Nest For? 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Eagles Nest appears best suited for travelers who:

  • Prioritize excellent customer service and a friendly, attentive staff.
  • Appreciate clean and comfortable rooms, especially those looking for direct pool access or private jacuzzis.
  • Seek a quieter holiday environment away from the very center of Pefkos.
  • Are prepared for a 20-minute walk to the main Pefkos area or plan to rely on taxis (with potential wait times) for longer distances to Lindos or other attractions.

Final Thoughts ✨

Eagles Nest offers a blend of positive experiences, particularly strong in its staff hospitality, room comfort, and value. However, potential guests should be mindful of the variable breakfast quality and the hotel's location, which requires some planning for local transportation. While most reviews are positive, the isolated but severe negative feedback regarding hygiene and food safety should be noted. Overall, for those seeking a tranquil retreat with good service and comfortable accommodation, Eagles Nest can be a recommended option, provided you manage expectations regarding its amenities and location.

We liked very much our stay in the hotel. The receptionist Melia was very nice and helpful! We also enjoy the dinner and breakfast, which had healthy and tasty options, while it was evident the good quality of the materials. The chef, waiters and barman, were also helpful and polite. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. Thank you!

When we arrived, we were placed in a different room than we booked but the front desk was able to fix the issue quickly. Location is further out from Lindos square so you will need to get a taxi. Taxis are hard to find and take long to arrive. Pool was great but breakfast was a disappointment. Not many options especially if you are vegetarian or vegan. Rooms were generous and clean but minibar did not have anything, you will have to go downstairs to purchase from shop.

Sum: I will never stay here againPros: convenient minimarket open 24-7 (we never used it but is a good to have)Cons: my husband and I both got sick from the breakfast (we were ill for more than 7 hours, so our whole day and night went to waste), breakfast was nothing special and disappointing to see they use disposable plastic cups, drinking water is yellow, room and surrounding area on balcony smells like sewage, sound proof it is not-everything is heard, due to a large crack in entrance door a cockroach got inside of our room, location wise by foot its quite far away from main streets in Pefkos. I have probably missed something but I feel this summary should do it.

The hotel was a great value for money. We were fortunate enough to stay in two types of rooms the one with the direct access to the pool and the other one with the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi room was a must since we had it entirely for ourselves. The reception girl Kiroula was super discreet and attentive on whatever we had requested. The restaurant's service of super kind Mr. Spiros and Angelina was a representation of great hospitality. We would love to return back one day.

This hotel is located at the edge of Pefkos, around a 20 minute walk from the centre, thus it's in a quiet area. Perhaps too long a walk if you're not good on your feet! Rooms are very clean, service excellent. Fairly small hotel, so no bunfights at breakfast. All in all, recommended.
