Located on the beautiful island of Rhodes, Greece, Evita Resort Hotel, at Eparchiaki Odos Apollona, Profitis Ilias 851 05, offers a lodging experience that appears to be sharply divided among its guests. While some visitors lauded their stay, highlighting excellent staff and good amenities, others encountered significant issues that left them questioning the hotel's claimed four-star status.

Accommodation & Cleanliness 🏨

The state of the rooms and cleanliness at Evita Resort elicits mixed opinions. Some guests reported finding their rooms spacious and regularly cleaned to a good standard. However, a contrasting account details a frustrating arrival where a paid-for room had no air conditioning, leading to a scramble for alternative accommodation. This guest also reported poor room cleaning, including broken human nails on surfaces and debris left after maintenance. Furthermore, reports of ants in rooms and beds were mentioned, though one guest suggested this might be due to food dropped outside. Towels and linens are noted to be changed only every three days.

Dining Experience 🍽️

The culinary aspect of Evita Resort is arguably the most contentious point. While some reviews mentioned a "good choice of food throughout the day, including snacks," many others provided stark criticisms. Frequent complaints centered on food being served at room temperature or lukewarm, with specific examples like cold scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, and lukewarm chicken nuggets and hot dogs for lunch. Dinners were described as featuring overcooked chicken breast that was difficult to cut, yet still not hot. A particularly concerning review mentioned food poisoning after consuming moussaka. Another significant detractor was the pervasive use of cheap disposable plastic cups for all meals, with no glassware provided, even for lunch or dinner, which severely undermined the perceived "four-star" experience.

Staff & Service 🌟

This is where Evita Resort truly shines for some guests, while others faced challenges. The entertainment team, including Billy, Sam, and Mom Mo, received high praise for their hard work and ability to make guests feel welcome and smile. Specific individuals were singled out for exceptional service: Sam was described as "amazing" and "exceptional," and Mike, the barman at the block 800 pool, was hailed as a "legend" for his wonderful, attentive service and constant smile. Christoff the barman also received a positive mention once engaged in conversation. However, not all interactions were positive. Some guests reported dealing with rude and ignorant staff members, particularly at the front desk when trying to resolve issues like room booking discrepancies or lack of air conditioning. There were also comments about restaurant waiting staff appearing "very stern" and hotel responses to complaints being generic "copied and pasted" replies, which added to guest frustration.

Facilities & Amenities ☀️

The pool areas are generally considered a positive aspect of the hotel. They are described as clean, peaceful, and offering a nice amount of sunbeds and shades, providing a pleasant environment for relaxation. The convenience of having a pool just 30 seconds from certain room blocks was highlighted. However, some areas for improvement were noted, including a perceived shortage of sun loungers, insufficient toilets around the pools, and too few bars open, leading to queuing.

Overall Impression & Recommendation

Evita Resort Hotel presents a deeply polarizing experience. For those who enjoy the vibrant entertainment and appreciate the dedicated efforts of specific staff members like Sam and Mike, and who are less bothered by dining inconsistencies, it can be a pleasant family holiday destination. The safe environment and decent pool areas are definite plusses. However, for guests expecting a genuine four-star experience in terms of accommodation quality, food temperature and presentation, and consistent, proactive service, the hotel may fall short. Issues such as booking mismanagement, cleanliness oversights, and the fundamental dissatisfaction with food service and disposable tableware are significant concerns. Therefore, potential visitors should manage their expectations accordingly, especially regarding the 'luxury' aspects typically associated with a four-star rating. It appears to be a resort where individual staff efforts sometimes compensate for broader systemic issues.

Fab hotel, nice spacious clean rooms and there is more than one pool.I stayed in a 1st floor room with a side view of the pool. The staff and animation team were great. I spent a lot of time out on boat trips/at the beach which is around a 10 min walk away. You can also hire e scooters and bikes. There is a decent shop on the resort too which is reasonably priced. In terms of the food...I tended to only occasionally eat there. It was lack lustre /not particularly hot. There are some really nice restaurants down by the harbour if you are open to going.

My husband and I stayed here in June for our anniversary! We had a swim up room which was lovely because we didn’t have to fight for a sun bed.The breakfast at the main restaurant didn’t have a big selection personally but the snack bar that opened between 11-4 has the most amazing pizzas and gyros so I can’t complain!Staff were very lovely and helpful. A little bit of kindness goes a long way, we learned a few Greek phrases to show our appreciation.Would definitely return!

I spent 10 days in this hotel. Every day was different. A large selection of food and very tasty. All day attractions, yoga, ping pong, water aerobics. Nice smiling staff, especially Billy and Leo. Clean rooms. Nearby is a nudist beach if you like. Beautiful peacocks walking around the area around the hotel, something special. I recommend this hotel.

Main restaurant food needs to be hotter, barely warm is not acceptable. Great choice, let down by temperature of it. Snack bar has hot fresh made tasty Pizza and Gyros. All hotel staff were very hard working, helpful and lovely to deal with. NO GREEN ALGEA IN POOL, LOOKS LIKE BOTTOM OF POOL IN PLACES,NEEDS PAINTING.Overall a positive experience at the Evita Resort.

Let's start with the positives. It's definitely worth a stay for the price we paid, which was quite cheap at just under 450 pound, but I wouldn't be happy paying anymore than we did to come here, because it's not worth anymore.1. Rooms were clean, and a good size with a balcony, a little shabby, but most importantly the mattresses were comfy and the shower was good. Overall the cleanliness of the hotel was to a high standard.2. Very nice and clean pool area, enough loungers for all3. Some very lovely staff4. All inclusive bar had a good selection5. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, plenty of choice, eggs, bacon, beans, mushrooms tomates, sausage, Continental selection, cereals, fruits, breads, cakes, yoghurt...only negative was the cooked choices were never hot, merely lukewarm and one day they put out a fresh tray of fried eggs that were stone cold.6. Peaceful areas you can relax away from main pool7. Snack bar was good for lunch, pizza and gyros, burgers etc.8. Wifi was extremely bad everywhere apart from in the reception. It should be a basic to provide good wifi throughout the resort. Now for the negatives:1. Food was always lukewarm or cold, only the soup was hot. This seems to be a reoccurring issue, looking at reviews, and management should do something before they make someone very sick2. Lunch and dinner: I actually thought some of the options were good; lovely fresh salad bar with a wide choice, soup but not fresh just tinned I guess, they always had some sort of fish, which didn't always look nice, either lunch or dinner they had chicken, grilled veggies, luckily I love salad and fish/chicken, so that's what I ate almost every lunch and dinner, which after 4 days was getting very tiresome, BUT I wouldn't touch the majority of the main dishes at either setting, as they looked awful, mystery meat in strange sauces (what they called Turkey in a white sauce looked particularly disgusting), and various stodgy looking rice or pasta dishes. Everything I ate from the hot servery was almost cold. If u don't like salad and expect high standards of food, you'll go hungry.3. Very noisy Peacocks everywhere, cute but not at 5am with their loud squeaking, bring ear plugs.4. The accessible room we booked was up 5 stairs and had a normal bath/shower so it was a struggle to get into and we ended up putting a chair in the bath to sit on5. It's not a 4 star hotel as we would understand in UK, it's a 3 star really. But for the price we paid, I guess it's fair.6. Taxi to falaraki is 10 euros set fare one way, which is excessive as the meter was running and it came to just over 2 euros, so bit of a rip off.7. Location is not good, too far to walk to town or beachOverall, if you're looking for a cheap holiday and you're not too fussed with the food quality or standards, the Evita resort will be for you. I doubt I'd come back here if I was to return to Rhodes, but I did enjoy my week here.
