Grand Blue Beach

FEATURES
Located at 642R GX, Archangelos 851 02, Greece, Grand Blue Beach is a distinctive point of interest on Rhodes Island. This establishment offers a unique beach experience, highly praised for its stunning natural beauty and tranquil ambiance, though visitors should be aware of its specific characteristics regarding accessibility and amenities.
🌊 Crystal Clear Waters & Exceptional Snorkeling
The most consistently lauded aspect of Grand Blue Beach is its remarkably clear and vibrant blue water. Reviewers enthusiastically describe the conditions as "crystal clear" and highlight the exceptional visibility, making it an ideal destination for aquatic activities. It's considered "supernice" for swimming, and particularly outstanding for snorkeling and diving in the fascinating caves that are easily accessible from the shore.
😌 Tranquility Away from the Crowds
Grand Blue Beach stands out for its relatively peaceful atmosphere. Unlike some of the more bustling tourist spots, it's often described as a "not crowded beach," which many visitors find appealing. One review noted it was "quieter than expected in September," suggesting it maintains a serene environment even during what might be considered shoulder season. It's an "awesome place to chill if you need some time away from people and city," offering a genuine sense of calm and relaxation.
⚠️ Important Considerations for Your Visit
Steep Access: Plan Your Arrival 🚗
Accessing Grand Blue Beach requires some planning and effort. It is described as "not easy accessible," and visitors are strongly advised to arrive by car or taxi. Be prepared for a "looong way down with the steps" to reach the beach level, and conversely, a challenging climb back up. This aspect makes it less suitable for individuals with mobility challenges or very young children.
Sunbed & Umbrella Charges 💰
A significant point for visitors to note is the policy regarding sunbeds. It appears that you generally have to rent sunbeds to use the main beach area. The cost for sunbeds and an umbrella is approximately 20 euros, which some reviewers felt was excessive or constituted a "tourist trap" given the potential for the paid sections to be crowded. However, it's worth noting that some visitors have found success by sitting on the "other side of the rocks" without incurring rental fees.
Limited Amenities 🍔
Due to its somewhat secluded nature, Grand Blue Beach offers limited amenities. While there is a bar available, it provides only "limited snacks." Visitors anticipating a wider selection of food or services should plan accordingly by bringing their own provisions or making arrangements for meals elsewhere.
✨ Overall Experience
Grand Blue Beach offers a truly unique and beautiful natural setting for beachgoers in Rhodes. Its pristine clear waters and opportunities for snorkeling and cave exploration are exceptional draws. It serves as a perfect escape for those seeking peace and a less crowded environment. However, visitors should be fully prepared for the challenging access and the sunbed rental policy. For adventurers and those prioritizing natural beauty and tranquility, Grand Blue Beach promises a highly rewarding and memorable experience.
THE best beach! Clear Water and supernice swimming and diving in the caves. You have to rent sunbeds to be using the beach. Not a crowded beach, wich is nice. Though be aware that it is not easy accesible. Probably you have to come by car/taxi. It’s a looong way down with the steps, a for sure on the way back.
Great beach. Quieter than expected in September. Water was crystal clear. We didn't pay for a bed and sat on the other side of the rocks.
Awesome place to chill if you need some time away from people and city. Rock water so its very blue…..
Tourist trap. Impeccable bay, perfect for snorkelling, ruined by possessors who arrogantly charge 20 euros for crowded sunbeds and umbrella, and who only provide a bar with limited snacks in this remote place.
