While we were shopping in Rhodes in the old city, the lady who ran the store recommended us to eat at Kalypso Tavern once we arrived in Lindos. So we had to see what it was all about. We were told that she knew the chef. So off we went. After looking at the menu, I decided on Beef Stew (κοκκινιστό μοσχαράκι) with rice and veggies and the wife picked the Fish Fillet which I think was the Sea Bass. The beef was very tender and huge amount of flavour. We both loved our main meals. It has been the best stew I have had in Greece. With a few drinks completed, we were given complimentary Greek sweets Baklava. These were mad. They didn't last long on the plate. We ended up speaking to a lady post of the management team which if I remember correctly her name was Kiki. We spoke about where we had come from and where our parents grew up in Greece. It was great to speak to her and share our experiences. A def place to visit while in Lindos. We had attended the restaurant back at the end of July this year but were delayed to write the review. I thought we took a photo with her with our phone but I think it was taken by her phone.
Strolled by this beautiful establishment during our visit to the Lindos Acropolis and so happy we dined in!Mary our server was delightful and efficient ehen serving us and answered all our questions!We had the traditional dokas salad and the Best Grape Leaves Dolmades of my life!!!The Greek white wine she suggested paired perfectly with our dishes and we loved the warm family energy the venue provided. We will definitely be back!
Nice rooftop restaurant. It's a typical restaurant in Lindos with a nice view of the city and the ocean, its on the more luxurious end of restaurants. We didn't have a reservation but they gave us a table on the top deck.Service was quick (we also went before the rush hour) but not all staff were smiling/welcoming as the norm of the Greek hospitality. They have superate staff for drinks and food which is a bit weird cause they insisted it needs to be separate and you would need to wait.Overall, we enjoyed our dinner.
Great place! Everything was exceptional - the food, the wine, the service and yes, the rooftop terrace, the view! Our best night and best dinner in our journey in Rhodes! Strongly recommend!p.s. I downgraded my rating from 5 to 4 stars after visiting again for lunch on the next day. We ordered the same dolmades but the portion was almost half smaller. The waiter just shrugged and said it is the same person in the kitchen.
I wish I could give more stars for the service, Kiki is a lovely, gorgeous human as are the rest of her team! The food was gorgeous we had the fried feta to start (delicious) and beef stifafo for mains. So fresh and tasty! Great views, great food but my favourite memory would be the staff and how welcome they make you feel! Keep being awesome and amazing team Kalypso 💖💖💖💖💖 ps get the lemonchello spritz it’s delicious
