Kerameni Beach, located at Rhodes 851 08, Greece, stands as a distinct tourist attraction and point of interest on the island. This establishment offers a wild and untouched natural beauty, contrasting sharply with some of Rhodes' more bustling coastal areas.

Reaching Kerameni Beach 🚗

The journey to Kerameni Beach is often described as an adventure in itself, with reviewers consistently noting it's "pretty difficult to reach." The consensus highlights the necessity of an off-road vehicle to navigate the challenging access road, which is characterized as "very steep and narrow." Turning at the end can also be tricky due to limited space. For those considering an approach on foot, especially during warm summer days, be aware that it can be a long and arduous trek. Visitors are strongly advised to "don't forget about the water to drink" for the journey.

The Beach Experience 🏖️

Kerameni offers a genuinely "secluded" and often "abandoned rocky beach" ambiance, making it ideal for those seeking tranquility away from crowds. The area comprises a main beach and a smaller beach that can be accessed by climbing a small cliff. The water quality receives high praise, often described as "fantastic" and "beautiful." Despite its charm, prospective visitors should be aware that both beaches are predominantly rocky, which means it can be "hard to lie down with your towels except a few small spots." While one review mentions the presence of "a couple of beach bars," the overall sentiment suggests a largely undeveloped natural setting with "no crowd no mess."

Important Considerations:

  1. Accessibility: As emphasized, a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended for reaching the beach. The road conditions require careful navigation.
  2. Terrain: The beaches are largely rocky, so consider bringing appropriate footwear like water shoes for comfort.
  3. Cleanliness: One reviewer noted an issue with "many rubbish that the sea brings," which can occasionally impact the natural scenery.
  4. Wasps: In the afternoon, there can be a notable presence of "many wasps that get around you." This is attributed to a small pond with brackish water nearby that they use for drinking.
  5. Amenities: Expect minimal to no facilities. It is crucial to come prepared with your own water, snacks, and any other necessities.

Is Kerameni Beach For You? 🤔

If you are an adventurous traveler on Rhodes Island, seeking a truly secluded and undeveloped beach experience, and are prepared for the challenging journey, Kerameni Beach could prove to be a rewarding destination. Its clear waters and tranquil environment are undoubtedly appealing. However, if your preference leans towards easy accessibility, soft sandy shores, or readily available amenities, you might find that "there are other beaches, more beautiful on the island with less fuss to reach."

Secluded beach but hard to reach. You need an off-road vehicle to get there but hard to turn at the end, as the road is very steep and narrow. The sign on the fence says "Please close the door", no warning or something as such. There is another small beach after the hill on the right side of the first one. Unfortunately, both beaches have many rubbish that the sea brings and for some reason, in the afternoon there are many wasps that get around you. There is a small pond with brackish water on the right side of the first beach that the wasps use for drinking. All in all, there are other beaches, more beautiful on the island with less fuss to reach.

Beautiful and very secluded beach, difficult to reach on foot especially during warm summer days but the beach itself totally worths it. There's a main beach and by climbing a small cliff brings you to a smaller beach. Both of them are hard to lie down with your towels because there are big stones all over except a few small spots. With an off road vehicle you can drive all the way to the beach.
