FEATURES
Located at Petaloudes 851 06 on the beautiful Rhodes Island, Lemur's Park stands out as a unique tourist attraction and point of interest. This establishment offers visitors an up-close and personal encounter with a variety of animals, creating memorable experiences for all ages.
Overall Impression: A Highly Recommended Visit ⭐
With an overwhelmingly positive reception from recent visitors, Lemur's Park is frequently described as a "small but very well run interactive animal park" and a "pretty nice farm." Many reviewers lauded the park for its unique interactive opportunities and the apparent care given to its inhabitants. It's noteworthy that the park has successfully recovered and survived recent forest fires, a testament to its resilience and the dedication of its team.
Unforgettable Animal Encounters 🐒
The absolute highlight for most visitors is the chance to interact directly with the animals:
The Lemur Experience: A Must-Do! ✨
Getting up close with the lemurs is consistently highlighted as a "real holiday highlight" and an experience that is "146% worth to interact with them." Visitors can enter the lemur enclosure, often described as something "from the other world," allowing for intimate interactions. A key note for families: children under the age of three years cannot enter the lemur cage.
Interactive Feeding Opportunities 🥕
Beyond the lemurs, the park offers ample opportunities to feed and pet other animals. For a small fee (2 EUR per can), you can purchase food at the cash desk and engage with a diverse range of creatures, including ostriches, donkeys, camels, and sheep. Reviewers noted that "all creatures there are happy to be pet and fed," indicating a responsive and engaging experience for visitors.
Animal Welfare and Park Layout 🤔
While the overall consensus is that "animals look well cared," one reviewer expressed concern regarding the enclosure size for some animals, specifically mentioning raccoons. They suggested that more space would enhance the experience, hinting at the park's potential for further development given its size. Despite this, the dominant sentiment points towards happy, well-maintained animals that are eager to interact with guests.
Friendly Staff and Park Amenities 😊
The staff at Lemur's Park received high praise for their friendliness and dedication. Visitors specifically commended the "lemur attendant" for making their day, noting that it was clear the person loved their job. The handlers are described as both "knowledgeable and friendly." Additionally, one reviewer mentioned that the food available at the park was "pretty tasty."
Tips for Your Visit 📝
- Consider visiting in the late afternoon, as some reviewers found fewer people at this time, resulting in a shorter wait (around 5 minutes) to enter the popular lemur enclosure.
- Remember the age restriction for the lemur enclosure: children under three are not permitted inside.
- Don't forget to grab some animal food at the entrance for an even more interactive experience!
In summary, Lemur's Park offers a unique and highly enjoyable animal encounter, particularly known for its interactive lemur experience. Its friendly staff and the opportunity to feed various animals make it a delightful stop on Rhodes Island, especially for families and animal lovers.
Wonderful zoo!The animals were well fed and had shade (was scorching the day we were there) and had water, they seemed happy! There were ostriches, camels, pigs, goats and of course lemurs (which was extremely exciting). The price of admission was fair, the gift shop was well maintained and the staff were super enthused to show and teach about the different animals, they were also of course very nice to us tourists. The lemur cage was super fun! You'd go inside the cage when the zoo keeper told us it was ok. He'd talk about were they're from and what they eat and how they live and so on. But the most exciting part was when he'd get them to climb on you and sit on your shoulder. Super fun and educational!Though I have to say that if you intend to visit, bring lots of water with you. But you can buy water there so no worries about that, it's just that it was super hot!All in all a super experience! Can't recommend it enough!
This is located in the Farma of Rhodes Petting Zoo and is an amazing experience being allowed into the lemur enclosure to pet and feed them. Their keeper was extremely knowledgeable and friendly! But beware that they may wee or poo on you, as one of them did on my partner! 😂
A great experience for us and the kids! 👍🏻There is a walk trough the park and you get to interact with four of the animals. The others you can feed and watch.99% of the animals seem to live a happy life and enjoy the visits from the spectators. It was only one duck and the rabbits that could be in a better state from our perspective. The visit with the lemurs was really great and our three years old daughter was amazed! 👍🏻A big recommendation from us to other families to enjoy this zoo! 👍🏻
The lemur experience is amazing, but the rest of the farm is kinda sad and forgotten. If you have too much time, then do it otherwise you can find a zoo much nicer and better kept.Buy tickets online otherwise its 3e more expensive. And buy food as its the highlight as well.
Place is amazing. Animal enclosures are clean and spacious. They clearly love their animals and are very well cared for! Such a good day out. The lemur were so much fun, their keeper is great with them. There are many different animals too. And a great little cafe and souvenir shop.Places like this should be advertised more not sure a lot of people know about it. We only came across it on Google maps. But would love to go back.
