Design & Ambiance 🌿

The hotel's aesthetic is a notable feature, with its layout and design reminiscent of a traditional Greek village. The grounds are described as beautiful and immaculately maintained, featuring pleasant foliage and charming jasmine arches by the pool. Its setting at the base of a hill adds to the charm, with the hillside beautifully lit at night, creating a lovely effect. The overall atmosphere is consistently noted as quiet and relaxed, perfect for unwinding.

Accommodation ✨

Rooms at Lindos Sun are generally found to be very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Many offer great sea views, for example, towards Navarone Bay. While one guest initially found their allocated room too small, the issue was promptly resolved with a move to a more spacious alternative, indicating responsive staff.

Location & Accessibility 📍

The hotel's location is often described as "slightly out of the way" from Lindos town, which contributes to its quiet charm. It's approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the edge of Lindos town and about 25 minutes to the main Lindos beach. The walk involves a "reasonable gradient," which some guests might find challenging in the heat or if less mobile. Conveniently, bus stops are located directly outside the hotel entrance, offering easy access to Lindos town or Pefkos. For those preferring not to walk, taxis to Lindos town cost around 10 euros, and budgeting for transportation or considering renting a car/scooter is advised by some.

The nearest beach, Navarone Bay, is a 10-minute walk away. While "quite desolate" compared to the more well-known Lindos beaches, it's highlighted as great for snorkeling.

Dining Experience 🍽️

The hotel's breakfast buffet is consistently rated as "brilliant" with a "really good selection" and everything being "very tasty." While guests often dine in Lindos for evening meals, the hotel's buffet dinners are noted as good, though breakfast is generally preferred. Food from the poolside bar also receives positive comments.

Minor points of contention regarding dining include occasional challenges in getting coffee at breakfast due to staff levels or milk availability, with suggestions for self-service options. One reviewer also expressed dissatisfaction with water not being included with half-board evening meals, costing 2.5 euros per bottle.

Staff & Service 😊

The staff are a standout feature, frequently receiving high praise for their friendliness, helpfulness, and politeness. Multiple reviews highlight their role in making the stay enjoyable, with one guest rating their service as "10/10." Housekeepers are also commended for their thorough room cleaning.

Facilities & Cleanliness ✨

The hotel excels in cleanliness, with guests consistently noting the exceptional cleanliness of the hotel, rooms, and pool area. The pool itself is described as decent and well-maintained. A significant advantage is the plenty of sunbeds always available around the pool, meaning no rush for guests. Despite initial concerns from previous reviews, the Wi-Fi speed was found to be great, even enabling guests to work without issues.

Considerations for Your Stay:

  • Walking to Lindos: Be prepared for a moderate walk with a gradient; buses and taxis are readily available if preferred.
  • Dining Inclusions: Note that water may not be included with half-board evening meals.
  • Coffee Service: While breakfast is excellent, coffee service might be a minor point of improvement.

Who is this hotel for? 💖

The Lindos Sun Hotel is perfectly suited for couples or individuals seeking a relaxed, quiet, and peaceful holiday. It offers a charming traditional Greek atmosphere and is ideal for those who appreciate nature, history, and tranquility. It is generally not recommended as an ideal hotel for families with kids, positioning itself more as an adult-oriented retreat.

Conclusion ✅

Overall, Lindos Sun Hotel is a highly recommended destination for a serene and enjoyable holiday in Rhodes. Its beautiful setting, diligent staff, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere make it a place many guests are eager to return to for future visits.

We spent 2 weeks at Lindos Sun from the end of May into early June 2023, and we absolutely loved our time there. The hotel is beautiful, the layout and design emulates the design of a traditional village in many ways. The grounds and public areas (including the pool) are immaculately maintained, and the jasmine arches by the pool are very charming. Its setting at the base of the hill is great, the hillside is lit up at night for a really lovely effect. We had a sea view room with a great view towards 'Navarone Bay' and the headland. The room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated.I was a big fan of the hotel's location. It's a 15 minute walk to the edge of Lindos town, and probably 25 minutes to the far side where the main Lindos beach is. It's on a reasonable gradient going into the town, so if you're of a less hardy disposition or don't cope well with the heat, I'd recommend getting the bus or a taxi into the town during the heat of the day. There are bus stops each direction very handy to the hotel, basically just outside the entrance. We really enjoyed our walks. The hotel breakfast was brilliant, there was a really good selection and it was all very tasty. We generally ate in Lindos for our evening meals, but the two hotel buffet dinners were good (we preferred the breakfast though). The food from the poolside bar was good too.We loved our stay, and would definitely return for another visit.

Just about to leave after a lovely week's stay here. Slightly out of the way location wise, but this didn't affect us as we didn't mind the walk or the bus into Lindos (which is right outside hotel on a sometimes busy road, not overwhelmingly so) Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, beautiful grounds with nice foliage. Nearest beach is about a 10min walk to get to Navarone Bay, which is quite desolate compared to the well known ones in Lindos. Great for snorkeling though. Good selection of food, and sunbeds always available around pool. Recommended for a quiet getaway not far from Lindos.

Here at the moment staying. The staff make this place 10/10 for me. Food is good, room well cleaned by housekeepers ❤️. Bus only a short journey to either Lindos town or Pefkos, where we stayed previously. Pool is decent and well maintained, like the rest of hotel and the grounds. No rush for sunbeads as plenty around, and it's nice and quiet.

Lovely hotel, very clean, friendly staff and wonderful green areas. We loved the location, food and atmosphere. The very charming Lindos village is a 20 minute walk away. or close by bus and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. We were nervous about the wi-fi speed based on other reviews but it was actually great and we could even work without a problem using it. Perfect place for those who enjoy peace and quiet, nature, history and traditional Greek atmosphere. Also great for a romantic vacation for couples. We would love to return for another holiday!

Just stayed at Lindos Sun for 1 weekHalf board. We found the hotel basic but very nice, relaxed, and very clean. The staff are all very helpful and polite. The breakfasts and evening meals are lovely although, simple things like getting a cup of coffee on a morning can be a challenge due to low staff levels, also what is it with the absence milk, is it rationed?. You can sit at your table for 10-15 mins without being offered a cup of coffee some mornings. Coffee needs to be on display so we can help ourselves. (That was my pet hate lol)I also feel the hotel should at least be providing water with the evening meal. Not charging 2.5 euros for a bottle. It’s a small fee but it adds up over the week. I’ve paid for half board and I need at least water with meals included! The first room we were allocated was way too small so we asked to be moved into a more spacious room, this was sorted the very next day so that was fine.Lindos sun hotel is a bit of a walk from the Lindos old town, taxis cost at least 10 euros. I’d recommend getting a car or scooter to get about, or budget for another 20 euros a day at least to get to snd from town. The pool area is basic but again very clean, and relaxed. This is not the ideal hotel to be taking kids,This hotel is perfect for couples wanting a relaxed quiet stay, with breakfast and evening meal, that is priced accordingly as it is situated slightly out the way.All in all we had a great stay with some minor niggles so I docked a star.
