Located at Grigoriou Lampraki 46, Rodos 851 00, Greece, this McDonald's on Rhodes Island offers a typical fast-food experience with some unique local touches. Customer reviews paint a picture of varied experiences, highlighting both positive attributes and significant areas for improvement, making it a place where expectations might need to be adjusted.
Many visitors commend the restaurant for its cleanliness and overall tidy environment. The establishment is spacious, featuring two floors with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is appreciated by customers. The bathrooms, located on the second level, are maintained, though access requires a code found on your receipt, which can be a minor inconvenience but often navigated with staff assistance.
Beyond the standard McDonald's fare, this location offers interesting additions like a bacon cheeseburger combo (not available in all regions) and unique desserts such as mini Nutella powdered donuts. Some patrons were pleasantly surprised that the food actually looked as pictured in advertisements and found the taste to be quite satisfactory, with cheeseburgers often described as nice and warm.
While service is a frequent point of contention, at least one returning visitor noted a significant improvement in service speed, indicating that the restaurant can manage heavy footfall with an acceptable turnaround time when well-staffed and organized.
A consistent complaint is the exceptionally long queues and sluggish service, especially during peak hours. Customers often find themselves waiting extended periods, and the method of order announcement (often in a low voice) can make collection challenging.
The quality and temperature of food can be inconsistent; some noted Big Macs were lukewarm, and potato wedges frequently lacked flavor, warmth, and seasoning. A particular point of frustration for many is the extra charge for common condiments like ketchup and pepper. Furthermore, some visitors felt the portions were small for the price, with combo meals reaching up to 8.40€, leading to a perception of being overpriced.
The restaurant can become very crowded and noisy, especially on the ground floor. While the upstairs seating area is generally recommended for a slightly better experience, it can still feel overwhelming during busy periods.
Despite some positive notes on cleanliness, one detailed review reported unacceptable bathroom conditions, citing dirt and a lack of maintenance, which poses a significant concern for hygiene standards.
Soft drink sizes were observed to be slightly smaller than those typically offered in other countries. Additionally, there are mentions of an environmental fee for plastic lids and cups, and an extra charge for "zero" (sugar-free) drink options, which can add to the overall cost and customer dissatisfaction.
A specific critique pointed out that the coffee served at this location is "terrible," suggesting it's not the place for coffee aficionados.
McDonald's in Rhodes provides the familiar convenience and menu of the global chain, making it a recognizable stop for tourists. While it boasts a clean environment, ample seating, and some unique menu items, be prepared for potential challenges such as long queues, variable food quality (especially temperature and seasoning), and perceived high prices for smaller portions. It might be a convenient option for a quick meal, particularly if you can secure an upstairs seat, but manage your expectations regarding service speed, value, and especially the coffee.
As A self proclaimed Mc Donald’s expert, sadly, I can say that this is a good one. It would be nice if the receipt was in English, but other than that it’s clean with nice toilets. Free ketchup, but only 2 packs with a meal. Nice graffiti wall.
Fairly fast service and clean McDonald’s. The small fries were €2.90 and the Mcshrimp was €4.95. The only shortcoming was that they forgot to include dips that we ordered.
This McDonald’s was very clean, the restaurant has two floors bathroom on the second level please keep your receipt as there is a code to enter to the bathroom. My family was ordering food so the manager was upstairs he kindly let me in which I was appreciative. The combos are around 8 euros decent price. The soft drinks are slightly smaller sizes than ours back home but that’s fine. Many different options, there was a bacon cheeseburger combo which we don’t have. Also mini Nutella powdered donuts interesting desserts. Good experience all around!
Felt like an upscale McDonald's compared to the ones back home in Oklahoma. If your in need of a bathroom this is the place to go. This restaurant is committed to everything clean including the bathroom.
Re-visit 24.8.2024: The service was much faster this time. I hope they learned from the previous experience. Side salad with balsamic vinegar was fresh and tasty, cheeseburgers nice and warm.Visited 18.8.2024 General: probably one of the worst experiences of McDonald's i have had anywhere in the world. It was a surprise as i am used to have guaranteed level of everything in a McD.Food: Big Mac meal with potato wedges and Sprite zero. Big Mac was good, luke warm though.. and taste wise as should be, delicious enpugh. Drink was cold. The potato wedges lacked taste, temperature and salt & pepper. Ketchup and pepper cost extra! 2/5.Service: very crowded and noisy. The lady announced the meal in a too low voice and you really have to pay attention. 3/5Atmosphere: upstairs is recommended. It was a bit better there. Too much people. 2/5.Overall: sadly not too nice visit and the wedges that were under seasoned. Extra fee for zero plus environment fee for plastic lid and cup; what is another choice? Is there one? Pricing is way too high too, 8,40€. It's a 2/5.
