Rhodes Bay Hotel & SPA

FEATURES
The Rhodes Bay Hotel & SPA, nestled at 100, Leof. Iraklidon Avenue, Rodos 851 01, Greece, consistently receives high praise as a modern and luxurious resort hotel. Guests frequently describe their stays as fantastic and unforgettable, with many expressing a strong desire to return. This establishment is recognized as a prime lodging option and a significant point of interest on Rhodes Island, offering a blend of relaxation and convenience.
Location & Setting 📍
Positioned ideally next to the coastline, the hotel boasts a brilliant location with warm weather. Its proximity to a private beach and its convenience for visiting Rhodes Town are highly appreciated by guests. The design integrates various amenities, including a rooftop pool and bar, all connected within one building, enhancing the overall guest experience and offering great views.
Accommodation & Comfort 🛏️
Guests consistently rave about the rooms, describing them as absolutely amazing, modern, and providing great views. Rooms are well-maintained, with daily cleaning and fresh towels provided. Attention to detail is evident, with amenities such as good quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion included. The showers are noted as excellent. For convenience, rooms feature proper coffee making facilities and a fridge, though some noted additional costs for fridge contents. Beds are highlighted for being very comfy, with a choice of pillows available, ensuring a restful stay.
Culinary Experience 🍽️
The food selection at Rhodes Bay Hotel & SPA is often cited as a major highlight. Guests appreciate the delicious taste and the wide variety of choices available, particularly at the all-inclusive buffet. Meals are described as a feast, with fresh fruits, delectable pastries, and diverse international dishes. Service in the restaurant is consistently quick and efficient. While the buffet generally receives high marks, some guests on shorter stays (less than seven days) noted a restriction preventing them from booking other specialty restaurants, meaning they were limited to the buffet. A point of concern raised was the lack of clear dietary restrictions indicated on the menu or buffet stands. Despite this, many found the overall buffet quality very good.
Facilities & Amenities ✨
The hotel offers a range of excellent facilities. The rooftop pool and bar are particularly popular, with guests easily able to find sunbeds at any time of day. The various pools and pool staff receive high commendation. The hotel's spa is excellent, described as soothing and calming, making it a highly recommended feature for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Staff & Service 😊
The staff throughout the resort are frequently praised for being absolutely amazing, very friendly, and doing an excellent job. Many reviews highlight their genuine hospitality, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure a special and memorable stay. The reception staff are noted for being very helpful and polite, and the cleaning staff are recognized for their great work. However, one review mentioned some less positive interactions with front desk ladies, indicating slight inconsistency in service at that specific point.
Areas for Improvement & Key Considerations ⚠️
While the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, a few points were raised for consideration:
- "All Inclusive" Clarity: Guests on the all-inclusive option noted that it doesn't always encompass everything, with extra charges for "silly little things" that might be included elsewhere.
- Restaurant Booking Restrictions: The policy of requiring stays longer than seven days to book non-buffet restaurants was a point of mild dissatisfaction for some short-break guests.
- Dietary Information: A significant concern was the lack of clear dietary restrictions on menu items or buffet stands, which could be problematic for guests with specific dietary needs.
- Maintenance Issues: One guest experienced a persistent issue with a blocked and malodorous shower that was not effectively fixed despite repeated calls to the front desk. While isolated, this highlights a potential area for prompt issue resolution.
Final Verdict ✅
The Rhodes Bay Hotel & SPA comes highly recommended for those seeking a luxurious and relaxing holiday on Rhodes Island. Its stunning location, modern accommodations with great views, generally excellent food selection, and particularly the amazing staff, contribute to an unforgettable experience. While minor improvements could be made regarding the "All Inclusive" clarity and dining options for shorter stays, and ensuring consistent front desk service and prompt maintenance, the vast majority of guests consider it a superb choice and express a strong desire to return. It's truly a place to create lasting memories, whether for a honeymoon, birthday, or simply to unwind.
It's a 5 star rated but felt more like 4 stars to me. The "deluxe room" was pretty standard fare. Reasonable size, 3 small drawers and an open area to hang clothes. The shower was over the bath with no anti-slip aid. I almost slipped over 2 or 3 times and ended up showering on my knees! There's a gym and spa and an indoor pool (the outdoor one was mostly unusable because of the weather).Reception was very nice but the place felt soulless. It's not all bad. The food was mostly excellent, with veggie options marked 95% of the time and the restaurant staff were really great (except the 1 waitress who kept clearing my table every time I went to get more food😒).A bus stop right outside the hotel to get into Rhodes and back in 10-15 minutes meant it was well placed. Restaurants and bars (mostly closed in early April) were within a 10 minute walk if you don't choose the all-inclusive option.Would I stay again? I'm not sure if I would. Certainly I wouldn't pay for all-inclusive again as a total waste of money, maybe half board.
Hotel was quite nice, more 4 🌟 than 5 🌟. Not a lot going on for children. Food was ok with a lot of choice. We went B&B so only ate breakfast in the hotel. Room was ok and had everything we needed. View from room 1449 was very nice on clear days and the sunset from the balcony was lovely. All staff very friendly. I would avoid buying anything from the shop that is on site. We paid about 16€ for a teddy and all the back split (within 12 hours). We was told no refund was available because we bought it the day before (again around 12 hours before). No help and zero interest in helping which is not what you expect on a 5 star resort. Would I stay here again? Probably not even though I enjoyed the stay it was lacking atmosphere in and around the hotel.
We had a wonderful vacation. The hotel is really clean and tidy, the food at breakfast was really varied and delicious. The rooms we took (2) were really good and had a greate sea view.Unfortunately, I was only disappointed by two things, the towels had an unpleasant smell (they were later replaced), and the toilet seat had strange stains that were absorbed into the toilet seat (room 1849)Beyond that, it was really good, the hotel is located in a perfect area and the view to the sea is simply amazing at sunset
Honestly, such an amazing hotel. The staff are really friendly. Always willing and able to help. The facilities were spotless, the whole hotel smelled amazing. I would love my house to smell like this.I would recommend to anyone to stay here.
Not really a 5* - more like a 4* with a spa.Found reception staff quite/very rude when reporting a fault with the a/c.A little odd to have to walk out the main door, go across the main driveway to get to the pool.A lot of traffic noise from the main road when at the pool.No easy access to the toilets from the pool area…Very course/jaggy approach to the shallow part of the pool.Indoor pool wasn’t the cleanest - but was warm. Jacuzzi and steam room weren’t working and sauna not hot enough to be a sauna.Hotel has its own part of the pebble beach. Due to its proximity it is quite littered. But has sunbeds and parasols. For a family of 3 I thought the deluxe room was a little small. Bathroom was small. Although everything was refurbished. The hotel was midway to rebranding from Rhodes Bay to Amus. As such, not all facilities were available during our stay.Taxi to/from airport is €26. Bus to Rhodes town €2.5
