Sun Beach Lindos Hotel

The Sun Beach Lindos Hotel, nestled in Lardos, Rhodes Island, Greece, offers a unique blend of experiences for travelers seeking a sun-soaked escape. Located directly on the beach, this establishment provides a convenient base for exploring the beauty of Rhodes, particularly for those looking for a peaceful holiday. While some guests arrive with reservations due to previous reviews, many leave pleasantly surprised by its offerings.
Accommodation & Comfort 🛏️
Guest experiences regarding rooms are somewhat varied. Many visitors praise the rooms as nice, new, and spotlessly clean, often highlighting the perfectly working air conditioning as a significant plus, especially during the warmer months. Family rooms are described as spacious enough for a comfortable sleep, though some found them to be on the smaller side, with limited floor space for luggage. A recurring point for improvement noted by several guests is the need for bathroom renovation. Specific concerns include rusting shower hoses, less-than-perfect tiling, and a lack of towel hooks in the compact bathrooms.
Dining Experience 🍽️
The hotel operates on an "all-inclusive light" concept, with varied opinions on the food and beverage quality. On the positive side, many guests describe the food as delicious and varied, with a good selection of salads, meats, rice, and pasta available at every meal. Notably, some reviewers appreciated the presence of fresh Greek dishes and fresh-made fries. Vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, and leaf salads are consistently available, offering healthy options. However, some criticisms include a perception of "quantity over quality" in some items, such as chicken nuggets, and a general consensus that desserts are not a strong point. A significant concern for some is the salty taste of the drinking water and many soft drinks, with coffee and diluted red wine being the only beverages seemingly unaffected. The all-inclusive package reportedly does not cover all alcohols, and bar drinks can be quite pricey (6-8 euro). There is also no dedicated snack bar.
Beach & Pool Access 🏊♀️
One of the hotel's most significant advantages is its direct beach access, often just a two-minute walk from the rooms. The beach itself is described as sandy with some pebbles, and the water is consistently praised for being pristine and enjoyable. While some noted the beach could be rocky, it's often considered one of the better beach access points in the area. Guests should be aware that loungers can be hard to secure unless claimed early. The hotel also boasts two great pools, including a clean kid's pool. Wi-Fi connectivity extends to the beachside, which is a convenient feature for guests.
Facilities & Entertainment 🎶
Beyond the rooms and main dining, Sun Beach Lindos offers a range of facilities. There's a beach bar providing a pleasant atmosphere with music, coffee, soft drinks, beer, and wine. The hotel also hosts evening entertainment occasions, such as Greek nights, Fire man shows, and Children's nights, which are generally not too loud or late, contributing to a peaceful evening ambiance. For convenience, a small on-site shop is available, offering ice cream and souvenirs at reasonable prices, addressing cravings not met by the main dining offerings.
Location & Accessibility 🗺️
Situated in Lardos, the hotel is described as being "in the middle of nowhere," surrounded by other hotels and mini-markets. This makes it an ideal spot for a worry-free, peaceful vacation. For those wishing to explore, Lindos Old Town is easily accessible by bus, approximately a 10-minute journey, and is highly recommended for a visit. Renting a car is also a popular option for guests looking to sightseeing further afield across the island of Rhodes.
Staff & Service 😊
The staff at Sun Beach Lindos Hotel generally receives high praise. Guests consistently describe them as very helpful, nice, and pleasant, often noting their dedication to providing the best service possible, even when facing potential limitations with ingredients.
Overall Impression
Sun Beach Lindos Hotel offers a pleasant holiday experience, particularly for families and those desiring a tranquil beach vacation. Its prime beach location, clean pools, and friendly staff are significant highlights. While the dining experience has room for improvement, especially regarding beverages and desserts, and some room aspects could benefit from renovation, many guests find the overall value and atmosphere to be highly satisfying. It stands as a solid choice for a relaxing break on Rhodes Island.
After reading all the negative reviews I was scared of going to this hotel. But truth to be told, this hotel went above and beyond of my expectations. The room was nice, new and the air conditioning was working perfectly. The food tasted good. I could see that the french fries were not frozen and were made fresh. They even served some Greek good, which was very good. Wifi was working at the beach side also. The beach itself was a bit rocky, but after speaking to other tourists, this hotel has the best beach and entrance to the sea. Its only 10 minutes to Lindos if you take the bus. The staff was very helpful and nice. Overall I was very pleased with my holiday. Thank you!
Quantity over quality. The hotel rooms are really small – family rooms that we asked for were basically a single queen size bed and a single bed (that was falling apart as it was poorly assembled) head-to-head and floor space for one open luggage. But yes, enough for getting a comfortable sleep. The rooms were renewed and looked nice, compete with stylish sink, but! Shower hose already rusting, tiling cutouts done by an apprentice with a dull circular saw, not a single hook for towels and bathroom so small that one person had issues to fit in.But you do not go there to sleep and shower, you want to be on the beach, having some fun in the sea. Well, the water is pristine, beach is covered with pebbles and although unsuitable for building castles, the sand is relatively clean with just an occasional cigarette bud. Sadly, so not expect to get your own lounger unless you take it up early; remember, quantity over quality. And after all that swimming in the sea and a clean (but slightly salty) kid pool, we get to the major pain point of the hotel – food and beverages.Staff seems to be trying to do the best that they can, but hard to say why, they seem to have foul ingredients at hand. Drinking water is salty, the only drink you so not seem to notice that is coffee and diluted red wine. All other soft drinks have significant salty aftertaste.Variety of food is overwhelming, and you almost always get something to calm down your hunger, but you will start to be a picky eater. Contrary to other reviews, vegetables were always present, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, leaf salad... Add olives and you get a great light meal every time. Pasta was available every meal. But keep away from the chicken nuggets if you don't like fried cardboard. And desserts were not a thing at all. If you have a sweet tooth, go somewhere else, you will be miserable here.On the other hand, if you crave something that is not on the repeating menu, there is a wonderful small shop in the complex that is actually not overpriced and will satisfy all your ice cream and souvenir needs.
Lovely small rooms, bathrooms need renovation, hotel is on the beach. Beach is sandy with some pebbles around, Water was nice. There is a beach bar with nice music, coffee, soft drinks, beer, wine. Hotel offers all inclusive light, food is delicious, not luxurious. The staff is pleasant. At some nights there are some entertainment occasions - Greek night, Fire man, Children' night etc. It is not to loud, nor to lateLocation is in the middle of the nowhere, with some hotels and minimarkets around, but you can take rent a car and go sightseeing the island. Old town Lindos is near by BUS also and it is worth looking around. If you want worry free peaceful vacation this is a place for you.
Food can be better, room need renovation, all inclusive not include all alcohols (just soft deinks) and drinks in bar are not cheap (6-8 euro). No snack bar.Access to the beach is for plus.
