This commitment to service significantly contributes to a positive guest experience.
Dining Experience 🍽️
The food at Sunshine Rhodes Hotel garners mixed, yet generally positive, reviews. Many guests found the food to be "absolutely delicious," "good," and even "brilliant," with chefs praised for their efforts. One guest with stomach issues reported no problems after eating. However, a common theme in the feedback is that the food, while tasty, can be quite repetitive, which is often expected for all-inclusive resorts. Some reviewers also noted issues with food temperature (being warm or cold) and a lack of labeling for vegetarian or other specific dishes. Drinks, unfortunately, were frequently described as "very watered down."
Rooms & Comfort 🛌
The guest rooms at Sunshine Rhodes Hotel are reported to be spacious and comfortable enough for two people. Daily housekeeping services include fresh towels, swept floors, bed making, and trash removal. Pool towels are changed twice a week. However, the rooms are frequently described as dated or outdated, with some mentioning that they "could be better" or "should be deep cleaned" despite being tidy. A recurring concern is the air conditioning system, which was noted to be intermittent, needing an upgrade, or even being turned off completely in October, leading to discomfort for some guests. Sound isolation in the rooms was also mentioned as an area for improvement.
Value & Overall Impression 💰
Despite some of the drawbacks, the overarching sentiment is that Sunshine Rhodes Hotel offers excellent value for money. Many guests felt they "couldn't have chosen a better hotel for this price" and that "you get what you pay for," making it "perfect for a budget holiday." While the evening entertainment might be "well worth avoiding" for some, and the all-inclusive drinks and food have their limitations, guests often found solutions by exploring local bars and restaurants just outside the resort. The hotel holds significant potential to be even better with updates to rooms and addressing the air conditioning and food labeling issues. Many guests expressed a desire to return, indicating a largely satisfying holiday experience.
Spent a week in October, everything was alright. The hotel is located on the beach, just 15 min travelling from the airport. 3 outdoor pools, well maintained. Absolutely delicious food, nice staff. The sound isolation in the rooms might be better, but we came back to the hotel just for night. And they need new air conditioning system for sure. In general not that bad, would like to come back again.
My friends and I recently stayed at this hotel (01-08.09.2023) and we are very happy we chose this location and this very hotel. The hotel is situated right on the beach. It’s premises is big and there is a lot to do. There are three pools, three bars, a tennis court, theatre, game room, a mini store on the hotel premises and a lot of hotel buildings (the hotel rooms are not in only one building, but a couple). The food is good (I have stomach issues and not once have I had any issues after eating). It is quite repetitive, but you will find something for yourself for sure, just like we did. The rooms we received were quite spacious, for two people was just right. The only thing that could be better is the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general, but it wasn’t very bad. It was tidy, but should be deep cleaned. The towels were changed and we received new ones everyday, along with swept floors, bed made and the trash was taken out. The pool towels are changed two times a week, once every three days. For us, that was just enough. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. Honestly, we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel for this price. It was our first time in Rhodes and we are super happy with our holiday. The bad reviews that we read before coming here shocked us, but we still chose to come and we are glad we did, because they are not at all true. Thank you Sunshine Rhodes for the beautiful memories and for the wonderful stay!
You get what you pay for. The rooms are dated and the evening entertainment is well worth avoiding. However, the beach is great, the staff are so friendly and the food it brilliant. Both the reception and bar teams give 100% all day. The chefs have their work cut out but always exceed expectations. For a budget holiday it's perfect.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room are a bit dated and air con intermittent but comfy enough.View across the beach and sea were beautifulDownfall for me were the drinks and food- drinks are very watered down and the food was sometimes undercooked or repeated a lot.Thankfully just outside the resort there are plenty of bars and restaurants that are brilliant. Just kind of goes against all inclusive.
We are a large group of eleven from ages 16 to in our 50s. Staff are very friendly and are always willing to help. I don't know if it's because this is the end of the season. The food is very repetitive, which is expected for all-inclusive. The vegetarian and some other dishes are not labelled, so it's potluck. The food needs to be hotter as some is warm or cold. The rooms overlooking the sea and pool have great views but are very outdated. They also turn off the air conditioning in October. It is a shame because this hotel has the potential to be a great hotel.
