Important Advice for Visitors ⚠️
Given the reported issues with card payments, it is highly advisable to carry cash when visiting Taverne The Castle to ensure a smooth transaction and avoid potential inconvenience, especially if relying solely on card payments. Final Thoughts ✨
Taverne The Castle offers a convenient and generally tasty culinary stop right by Monolithos Castle. Its appealing food options, especially the Greek yogurt and gyros, along with the added benefit of local souvenirs, make it a desirable stop. However, potential visitors should be aware of mixed experiences regarding customer service and be prepared for possible payment limitations to ensure a pleasant visit.
Really convenient place to have a light meal when visiting the castle. The Greek Yogurt with Honey and Walnuts was amazing, so much so that we had it on both times that we went there (the first time it was raining so much that we decided not to go up to the castle). They also sell souvenirs, soaps, local honey, etc.
Had a small bowl oglf yogurt here and it was delicious although it was quite different than those I had in Turkey. Owners must be more welcoming.
Avoid !!! Absolutely rude staff, they haven't had internet connection on the day we came so they couldn't accept card payments. I have asked if my children and I can use the toilet although i can't pay for anything because i don't have cash. Both woman and man said it's customers only toilet. How can you be so awful people !!! ??Terrible customer service.
Very nice place for both food and souvenirs. Right next to the wonderful Monolithos castle. Pork gyros plate was excellent. Friendly service too.
Vegan friendly!!! Lovely place for a quick bite or drink! Staff was really nice, served a variety of fresh meals & snacks! Was the highlight to the “castle “ visit
