TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri, located in the serene Plimmiri area of Rhodes Island, Greece, is a sprawling resort hotel designed predominantly for an all-inclusive holiday experience. Drawing an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 from recent guests, it is frequently described as a very good, clean, and well-maintained establishment, offering a wealth of on-site activities and facilities.
This resort stands out for its extensive amenities and focus on providing everything a guest might need within its vast premises. Visitors praise the multiple swimming pools (3-4 reported), numerous tennis courts, and a dedicated water park perfect for children. The culinary offerings receive high marks, particularly the diverse and fresh buffet cuisine, along with specialty restaurants. The staff and entertainment teams are noted for their energy and warmth, contributing significantly to a fun and heartwarming holiday atmosphere.
Guests consistently report high standards of cleanliness and quality in the rooms. Many have noted receiving free upgrades to larger family rooms upon arrival, depending on availability. Housekeeping services are excellent. A minor point of note for travellers is the absence of an iron in the rooms, meaning guests either need to bring their own travel iron or incur (reportedly pricey) laundry fees. Any small issues, such as with showers or fridges, are quickly resolved via a responsive WhatsApp service to reception.
The food at TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri is a major draw. The main buffet restaurant offers an impressive and consistent selection of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with fresh local Greek produce like cheeses and yoghurt being particular highlights. There is a wide variety of options, including plenty for vegetarians, though vegan choices might be limited. Beyond the buffet, guests can enjoy specialty restaurants like the Greek Taverna and Italian, and the "Flavors" restaurant is highlighted as excellent. A 24-hour snack bar provides fresh sandwiches, and a great coffee shop offers a delightful selection of sweet treats. While the complimentary drinks are generally good, paid options offer a higher quality for those seeking premium beverages.
The resort ensures there's never a dull moment with an abundance of activities. Daily options include fitness classes, archery, mountain biking, dance, and yoga. Non-inclusive activities like water sports, scuba diving, and excursions are also available for an extra cost, as is car hire directly from reception. The beautiful beach, while not massive, provides ample sun loungers, and finding sunbeds by the pools is rarely an issue. Evening entertainment in the theatre is described as fun and engaging, largely thanks to the energetic and multi-skilled staff who perform and interact with guests throughout the day.
One of the most frequently mentioned aspects of TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri is its remote and secluded location. It is "miles from anywhere," with no towns or villages within walking distance. The closest major town, Lindos, is approximately 30 minutes to an hour away by bus or taxi. The transfer from the airport can take around two hours. This isolation makes the resort ideal for those seeking a self-contained holiday where everything is on-site, but less suitable for guests who enjoy exploring local towns and attractions independently.
A significant observation from several reviews is the resort's primary demographic: a large majority (reported as 80-95%) of guests are German or Dutch. This has a direct impact on the entertainment and guest services. While the staff are warm and friendly, much of the entertainment, especially for children, is conducted primarily in German. This can be a point of disappointment for English-speaking families, as some parents felt their children were unable to understand or fully participate, leading to a sense of isolation. Some guests noted that menus and greetings were also predominantly in German. While many guests found the German and Dutch visitors friendly and considerate, those expecting an English-centric resort experience, as sometimes advertised, may find this a mismatch.
This resort is highly recommended for families with children, offering a wide array of activities and facilities tailored to younger guests. It's also perfect for those seeking a peaceful, all-inclusive holiday where relaxation and on-site activities are the priority. However, older couples who prefer quiet evenings or enjoy walking into local villages and towns might find it "a bit too lively" and its remote location a drawback. It is generally not suited for those looking for a British enclave holiday or extensive off-resort exploration.
TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri provides a high-quality, comprehensive holiday experience in a stunning, albeit remote, setting. Its strengths lie in its excellent facilities, diverse food options, and dedicated entertainment staff. However, potential visitors, especially English-speaking families, should be aware of the predominant German language in entertainment and the hotel's secluded location.
Overall: A fantastic choice for a self-contained, active family holiday or a relaxing escape, provided you are comfortable with a largely German-speaking environment and limited external exploration.
Very good resort, pretty huge. 3-4 swimming pools and very clean and tidy. Lots of tennis courts. We went at the end of the season so was relatively quiet. A pretty large resort so you must be happy to do a fair bit of walking. I did 15-22k steps most days. I must say there was probably 80% Germans at this resort which wasn’t really a bad thing it just meant most of the entertainment was spoken in German. The location is quite remote, can’t really walk outside of the resort as there’s nothing so you must take a bus. Overall we had a great time and a lovely holiday.
Very nice hotel if you're looking for a peaceful holiday. Plenty to entertain children day and night but also lots of adult only areas. It's a 24hr all inclusive which we didn't know until we arrived which was a bonus. There's nothing outside of the hotel for miles so if you want to mooch round towns it's not for you. But there's everything you need and more on site. Big thumbs up.👍👍👍
Stunning Hotel , miles from anywhere, Flavors speciality restaurant excellent. This is definitely a hotel that caters more for families, and I highly recommend it if you have a couple of children it's brilliant. But we are both in our Sixties and found it a bit too lively ,and we like a walk into a village or town . The nearest was Lindos about an hour in a taxi. One last thing there's a raised floor in the Adult only bar it's a serious trip hazard.
I travelled here from the UK with my husband and two children. One is nearly 3 and the other 3.5 months old. For a first family holiday it’s been great. The hotel isn’t overwhelming, easy enough to get around, the rooms are clean and I’m sure we were upgraded because we ended in a family room but had booked a double, the water park was perfect for our son, the theatre is a good spot although some the song choices were little inappropriate at times but again our son enjoyed it as he didn’t understand the lyrics in the songs. The food is good, can’t really complain about the amount of choice you have and their restaurants are lovely too! The coffee shop is great and so is their choice of sweet treats. The beach is beautiful, get there early to get sun loungers though! Pools, snack bars etc are all great. Overall it was a lovely holiday! The biggest let down for us was that the children’s entertainment is in German, from the songs to the staff who lead the shows all talk in German which I found odd. Our son couldn’t understand any of it? 95% of the guests were also German and I feel like the hotel is catered for Germans from the menus to the language you’re greeted in etc. This isn’t to say I have anything against anybody here I am just simply confused as to why this isn’t advertised when booking, it tells you it’s all in English which simply isn’t true. Had I have known that I’d of probably booked elsewhere and for that reason I wouldn’t come back to this hotel although we had an amazing time we felt very isolated and it wasn’t nice for our son! You’re also very secluded here, there’s nothing around and the closest town is 30+ mins away. As per value for money I think it’s OK.
We had a great week here in the Magic Life. We stayed in one of the sharing pool rooms that we can really recommend !The site is little bit far off the cities (30 minutes to Lindos) but that makes the surroundings quiet, nice for running and biking (offered on AI) and offers a large private beach. The team is great, special thanks to Alex at the front desk and Nele, Luise & Leni from the entertainment team!
