Nestled in the picturesque landscape near Marmaris, Türkiye, Turgut Falls offers a natural retreat for those seeking a refreshing break from the coastal heat. While some might mistakenly associate it with Greece's Rhodes Island, its true location is a short drive from Marmaris, making it a popular excursion for both locals and tourists exploring the Turkish Aegean region.

This charming attraction, categorized as a tourist attraction and point of interest, provides a blend of natural beauty, adventurous walks, and cool, inviting waters. Visitors generally find it a worthwhile stop, especially for those who appreciate natural scenery and a chance to cool off.

What to Expect & Highlights ✨

  • Natural Beauty & Refreshment 💧

The waterfalls and natural pools are widely praised for their beauty, offering excellent photo opportunities. Many visitors enjoy sitting or wading in the water, which is noted to be "very refreshing" on hot days, particularly when temperatures soar above 30°C.

  • Charming Amenities ☕

Despite its natural setting, you'll find a "cool little café" just below the main waterfall. Reviewers mention good prices, and there are also "small hot drinks and beverage outlets" scattered along the walking paths, offering a pleasant surprise for weary explorers.

  • The Journey Itself 🚶‍♀️

The experience isn't just about the falls; the walk to them is often highlighted as enjoyable. It involves navigating "streams, river beds and paths," adding to the adventure and making the destination feel earned.

Important Considerations & Tips for Your Visit 💡

  • Finding the Falls & Terrain 🗺️

Some visitors have found the falls "a little tricky to find," and the "track up the hill is rough terrain." It's advisable to factor in extra time for navigation.

  • Managing Crowds 👥

Turgut Falls can get "bit busy," especially when "jeep safaris get here." Reviewers suggest arriving early, around 10:30 AM, to enjoy a "quiet and tranquil" experience before the crowds arrive. Parking space is also limited.

  • Essential Footwear & Safety 👟

Given the "long walk up streams, river beds and paths," wearing "comfy shoes" or, even better, "sensible water shoes" is highly recommended. Some areas can be "dangerous," so it's crucial to "know your own ability and be careful" while exploring.

  • Value for Distance 🚗

While undoubtedly a "beautiful place," some visitors advise it's "not worth it" if you have to travel "for longer than an hour to see it," as the waterfall itself is described as "small." However, if it's "on your way" or part of a larger excursion like a jeep safari, it's highly recommended.

In conclusion, Turgut Falls offers a delightful natural escape with its refreshing waters and scenic walks. By planning your visit for earlier in the day and coming prepared with appropriate footwear, you can fully enjoy this charming Turkish gem, a true highlight for nature lovers in the Marmaris region.

This waterfall is amazing. It was a little tricky to find, we got turned around a few times, but it was worth the effort. You should probably wear comfy shoes, or even better, some water shoes. There's a cool little café just down from the waterfall with a view of it, and the prices are good.l'd say it's worth a trip.

We drove here on a day out in a hire car. Arrived about 10:30 and there was only 5 or 6 other people. Track up the hill is rough terrain, not a lot of parking space, should imagine when the jeep safaris get here it would be rammed and difficult to get to the waterfalls with the volume of people. It was hyped up by the ticket touts in the town and I was quite disappointed but only saving grace was getting there early when it was quiet and tranquil. Water was quite cold 🥶.

It's beautiful place. I definitely recommend it if it if it is on your way. If you want to travel for longer than an hour to see it, I would say it's not worth it. The waterfall is small but the walk to it is very nice. Lots of people sit in the water. It's very refreshing when you walk there in temperature over 30°C.
