Atlantica Aegean Blue Resort

FEATURES
PAYMENT
Located on the picturesque Rhodes Island, Greece, at Paris St street, Kolympia 851 03, the Atlantica Aegean Blue Resort stands as a prominent hotel, lodging, and point of interest. Based on recent guest experiences, this all-inclusive establishment offers a blend of fantastic amenities and friendly service, though some areas could benefit from refinement.
Overall Impressions โจ
Many guests describe their experience as "wonderful" and "amazing," highlighting the resort's ability to provide a memorable holiday. The staff consistently receives high praise for being "incredibly friendly,""always serving with a smile," and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Even at the end of the season, staff remained "relaxed and happy." The resort is lauded for its cleanliness, with one reviewer calling it the "cleanest resort I have been to."
Accommodation & Comfort ๐๏ธ
The rooms are generally described as "nice" and appearing "new," offering ample space to prevent a claustrophobic feeling. Rooms with terraces are available, and the option for daily cleaning is a plus. Swim-up rooms and those with private pools are highly recommended, with private pools being described as "much recommended." However, it's worth noting that some private pools might be shaded for a significant portion of the day, which could lead to cooler water temperatures. A unique design choice of a large window between the bedroom and bathroom in some rooms was noted as an odd feature. A significant concern raised by one guest was room security, as it appeared anyone with a key card could access a room, even when locked from the inside.
Pools & Water Fun ๐โโ๏ธ
The resort boasts "stunning pools" and "lots of lovely pools," catering to various preferences. The on-site water park is particularly impressive, designed to entertain guests of all ages. The infinity pool area is highlighted for its beautiful views and is where some guests found the best drinks. However, there were some observations regarding pool cleanliness, with one guest noting the presence of "sand, leaves, and other things in water." Additionally, the "blue zone" pool, intended to be a quiet area, reportedly had children present, impacting its peaceful ambiance for those seeking tranquility.
Dining & Drinks ๐น๐ฝ๏ธ
The all-inclusive package at Atlantica Aegean Blue Resort provides a wide array of food and drink options. Reviewers noted that the main restaurant offered a decent but generally "average" food quality, with limited hot options for breakfast but better choices for lunch and dinner. The ร la carte restaurants, particularly the Greek one, received much higher praise, being described as "fantastic." A point of clarification for future guests: only one ร la carte restaurant visit is included per week in the all-inclusive package, not all of them. Snacks at the snack restaurant offered good variety but average quality. The bars provide a "fantastic selection and quality of drinks," ranging from sweet options and lime-heavy concoctions to excellent gin and tonics, sparkling wine, and alcoholic slushies. However, the overall drink quality was typical of all-inclusive resorts, not exceptional. Coffee quality was also mentioned as an area for improvement.
Location & Surroundings ๐
The resort's location is considered both "beautiful and quite convenient." Guests appreciate the on-site shop with reasonable prices and several other shops nearby. Practical amenities include a bus stop directly in front of the hotel and the popular Eucalyptus Street within walking distance. Car rentals are readily available both inside and just outside the resort, offering convenience for exploring Rhodes Island. The beach, while beautiful, is described as "rocky, made up of stones and coarse gravel," making it challenging to walk on without appropriate footwear.
Additional Amenities & Services ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
The resort offers "fantastic amenities" overall, including reliable Wi-Fi. A well-equipped gym is available, often providing a peaceful environment for workouts as it's not heavily used. While the hotel does not have an on-site doctor, they can arrange one if needed, though guests should be aware of potential costs. Some minor service shortcomings were noted, such as occasional broken coffee machines or issues with welcome packages and towel change frequency (every second day).
Considerations for Guests ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ
Families with children will find the resort well-equipped, offering "everything that kids and babies can dream of." However, guests seeking a quieter, more adult-oriented experience might find the large number of children throughout the resort, including in designated quiet zones, to be a downside. Another minor issue reported was the presence of ants near the sea-facing pool. Additionally, concerns were raised about unchecked access to the hotel area through a gate near the sea coast, which remained open all day.
In Summary
Atlantica Aegean Blue Resort generally provides a wonderful and relaxing holiday experience, largely thanks to its friendly staff, impressive pools, and diverse amenities. While there are some areas for improvement regarding food variety in the main restaurant, pool cleanliness, a la carte restaurant clarity, and minor security and service quirks, the positives often outweigh the negatives. For families, it's an excellent choice, though those desiring a quieter atmosphere might need to adjust expectations.
Just had my Daughters wedding at this great hotel, from the 3rd of May we had 11 perfect days, the wedding was perfect can't fault the staff one bit, all were fantastic. A big thank you to Nikos, the mixologist at the lobby bar who was fantastic nothing was too much for him.Thank you!!Dino
Beautiful choice of meals this evening. Rana and the team cooked up a delicious selection - my highlight, salmon risotto. Absolutely five star taste and service.
We stayed from May 5th-12th, The weather was reaching 28 degrees so very warm. The entertainment was amazing, the kids disco 8-9pm and afterwards until 11pm for adults. Donโt stay in a sea view room if you donโt want to be kept awake by entertainment though lol.Food here is unreal, they have bits of everything and i cannot fault a thing. The drinks are great and not so watered down, the service is outstanding, they are so friendly and help with everything. the mini market has most things you need, Blue milk ect especially for babies! There is so much to do here youโd barely need to leave the hotel, but i do recommend a trip to Rhodes town.Petroula at the gelato stand was amazing and so friendly and happy with the children, on our last day she gave extra marshmallows to my son and made him really happy :)5/5
This hotel's staff is probably the nicest you will ever meet. The service is a five and while it might be far from where I live it's very worth it. Gluten free and all you can eat ๐.
Just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel. We had a pleasant stay and the hotel is beautiful, lovely see views, choice of pools, the pool bar was fantastic and the water park is a great addition for both adults and children.Food was OK, nothing special and not much choice for the children to be honest. We where greatful for the other choices of restaurants which where outstanding. The drinks- cocktails are awful just surup and not much alcohol I know for safety atound the pool they use paper cups but nothing worse than paper cups. I would advise take your own plastic pint glasses and wine glasses and water bottles for the children. We enjoyed the snack bar which was all freshly made. The rooms where very clean and comfortable although hairdryer was very bad and kept over heating so take your own.The entertainment wasn't very entertaining, one evening we had opera which was extremely boring for the children. The dancing for the little ones is fun at the start but after 9pm the entertainment was very grim we stayed for 10 nights and only one night we enjoyed the entertainment. Not much to do when it rains I think the hotel need to work on this as it makes the holiday quite depressing with nothing else to do.Taxi cost 47euro one way into rodos old town which was very pleasant.Although we all enjoyed our stay we wouldn't rate this hotel as 5 star it's more like a 4.A special mention to Nikos and Kristoph who served us on the reception bar, they where fantastic.Thankyou all for a lovely holiday ๐
