Located on Main Street in Kolympia, Rhodes Island, Greece (Kolympia 851 03), Delfinia Resort Hotel operates as a hotel, resort, and lodging establishment. This review compiles recent guest experiences to provide a balanced overview of what prospective visitors can expect.
Accommodation: Comfort and Condition 🛏️
Guest opinions on the rooms at Delfinia Resort Hotel are quite varied. While some found their rooms to be a good size with a gorgeous view from the balcony, others described them as "a little tired looking," "dated," or "worn." There are mentions of minor maintenance issues, such as a shower curtain that kept falling down or a hairdryer needing replacement, though these were generally resolved by staff.
However, some guests reported more significant issues, including a bad smell in the room and toilet, and concerns about cleanliness. Mattresses were highlighted by one guest as being "terrible" and causing discomfort. Additionally, bathrooms are noted to be quite small, which could be a challenge, particularly for families with young children.
Rooms located next to the pool might experience strong noise and occasional water on the balcony.
Food & Dining: All-Inclusive Offerings 🍽️
The food and dining experience generally receives positive feedback. Guests found the all-inclusive food to be good, with a "quite extensive" selection and "many cocktails" included. Specific highlights include delicious Gyros at dinner and very fresh salads. Snacks are reportedly available most of the day, contributing to a convenient dining experience.
Facilities & Amenities: Pool, Beach, and Kids' Club 🏊♀️🏖️
The hotel boasts good facilities, with the pool area frequently praised, with some guests stating that the pictures don't do it justice. For those preferring the sea, the beach is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk away. It is described as clean and suitable for toddlers, making it a good option for families.
The kids' club received mixed comments; one guest noted that it "doesn't accommodate the English", leading to difficulties for their children in making friends. Observations were also made about a strict lifeguard around the pool and slide area, which some guests found overly restrictive with children.
Staff & Service: Helpful Hands and Standouts 👋
The staff at Delfinia Resort Hotel are largely described as "great and helpful," "friendly and accommodating." Several reviews specifically commend certain team members. Antonio, in particular, was singled out for going "out of his way every day to make sure that you have the best possible experience," and for being "great with kids" and "a real reassurance to the resort." Another staff member, Nikos, also received a mention for positive contributions.
While the service is generally positive, one guest noted that there isn't always the "typical Greek hospitality" which some might expect.
Guest Demographics and Atmosphere 🌍
It's worth noting that several guests mentioned the hotel's clientele tends to be predominantly Polish, Czech, and Slovak. This demographic mix was observed to impact the atmosphere and, for some English-speaking families, the social dynamic for children in the kids' club.
Value and Overall Impression ✨
Despite some of the criticisms regarding room condition and the need for renovation, many guests feel that Delfinia Resort Hotel "provides excellent service for such a low price," indicating good value for money. While some experiences were marred by specific issues like room cleanliness or strict rules, others found their stay "nothing short of amazing" and had a "good time" overall.
The hotel appears to be a reasonable choice for those seeking an all-inclusive stay with good food and a pleasant pool area, especially if they are comfortable with the existing room conditions and guest demographics, and appreciate attentive staff.
It's OK, rooms was a little tired looking although ours was a good size. Gorgeous view from the balcony was the saving grace. Shower curtain kept falling down, hairdryer blew up but got replaced so no real issue.Food was OK. Gyros at dinner was great. Salad very fresh. Pool area is good the pictures don't really do it justice. Overall we had a good time.
The stay overall has been nothing short of amazing. Good facilities and good food. The team are all great and helpful but two standouts have to be Antonio and nikos. Antonio goes out of his way every day to make sure that you have the best possible experience you can, as well as being great with kids and overall a absolute joy and a real reassure to the resort.
We had a bad experience, the room had a bad smell and was not clean. There was a bed smell from the toilet, we told the reception but their only suggestion was to spray good senses.Mattresses are terrible and our beck hurt. Our room was next to the pool and there was strong noise also water got in the room balcony occasionally.Bathrooms were so small, that if you had to take your kid's shower it was impossible.
Lovely hotel. Rooms a little dated and small for a family but all-inclusive food was good and snacks available most of the day. The only thing I would say is that the hotel doesn't have many English there and the kids club doesn't accommodate the English and my kids struggled to make friends. Also beware of the life guard! He loves his whistle which you get sick of hearing and don't touch his rope. He's not very friendly with the kids and too strict about his slide
I really don't understand where all the negative comments about this hotel are coming from. The rooms are a bit worn, but okay, the food selection is quite extensive, and there are many cocktails in the all-inclusive offer. The staff is friendly and accommodating, although it's true that there isn't the typical Greek hospitality. The beach is about a 5-minute walk away, it's clean, and suitable for toddlers. One downside of the hotel is that most of the guests are Polish/Czech/Slovak and they make a fuss about every little thing.I can't comment on the pools because we didn't spend time there - a waste of time when the sea is so beautiful and clean and so close :)The hotel needs a renovation, but still provides excellent service for such a low price.
